Keep the Lights On

Ancora is highly active in our home community, and we support lots of local initiatives and projects.

One program that’s really amazed us is Porchlight, a non-profit organization that works with the local homeless community and invests much of its efforts in creating long-term solutions.

We’re so impressed with Porchlight that we’ve created a special blend to help financially support their programs.

Art at Ancora

Creativity takes courage.
~Henri Matisse

A vibrant community is a community that supports the arts. At Ancora, we proudly display the amazing works of local artists in our coffeehouses. Enjoy!

Featured Artist: Denyce Flood

"I began painting in 2008 and quickly adopted a narrative style. I work quickly, usually without a preliminary sketch on the finished piece. I'm completely engaged drawing my little pictures and when finished I always think, "hmmm...well look at that!" I appreciate this opportunity to share them with you." Denyce Flood

Featured Artist: Erik Marquess

Erik was born in 1967 in Madison, Wisconsin. Erik has always been interested in art. His mother, Joyce Carey, was at the University in an art-related field. His father, Harlan Marquees also taught at the UW in Slavic languages. Erik would always doodle on papers, inventing new machines and scenarios from his imagination. More recently, he has begun to paint with watercolors. To date, Erik has produced more than 60 paintings with more to come: landscapes, nature scenes and, of course, little huts. Using recycled frames, Erik does paintings in about an hour although some take longer depending on the level of details. With a wide range of subjects, there’s something for everyone!
