Tanzania Peaberry
This offering, from the Kanyoyu cooperative in Tanzania, recently won 1st place in the Tanzania Taste of Harvest Competition, and consistently places within the top 5 in all East Africa competitions. Kanyovu Cooperative has received the highest price ever paid for Tanzanian coffee. Located next to the Gombe Reserve on the banks of Lake Tanganyika, farmers come from nearby Burundi, Zambia and Congo to learn from the Kanyovu coop. Farmers also work closely with the Jane Goodall Institute (known for their groundbreaking work with chimpanzees in the Gombe Reserve) on re-forestation and economic development. The cup itself is creamy and balanced with citrus, floral and chocolate flavor notes.
