Ethiopia Washed Sidama

Ethiopia Washed Sidama
Since the Ethiopian province of Sidamo no longer exists, most of the coffee known as Sidamo is now grown in the Sidama zone. After the communist regeime of Mengistu fell, a new government and constitution was formed, and in 1995 the area formerly known as Sidamo was split between the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and people's region ("SNNPR") and the Oromia region. Sidama coffee is grown predominantly in small family gardens using wild heirloom varietals, at altitudes of up to 6200 feet. This medium-bodied bean displays undertones of lively citrus and cinnamon that resonate throughout, complemented by perfectly balanced brightness.
